I asked DH what kind of chicken he wanted after I got all that the kids and I wanted, he said golden phoenix so...I planned on getting him some for his birthday, just a few months early. He better get cracking on the coop for them. He has a couple of weeks, guess I should really tell him they are coming. Nah

My hubby is pretty good for the most part. I have learned to let him help when it comes to picking chickens out. He was more than happy to let me have more eggs if he got to pick some he wanted. I have also sat down with him and talked about the benifits to have our own chickens and eggs. They are hormone free etc.. he has come to terms with that. I know have 35 something chickens with 25 babies coming and wanting more eggs to hatch. I will disbatch some for the freezer.
