Adding new chicks to already existing chicks

Risa, in case you are still thinking of marans, Frizelle Enos feedstore in penngrove has a whole bunch of tiny marans chicks...

Oh, thanks for that! I think we aught to stick with the 9 we have right now though. I think my husband was a little hesitant with that many, but let me go ahead. He'd probably shoot me at 12! lol Oh, but I'd love them.... :)

heh, i'm trying to hold the line with myself at 8 (4 now, 4 on the way...) -- it isn't easy, is it?

I went to Western Farm today to pick up something for the chicks. Let's just say it's a good thing those ducklings were not for sale today! And I should NOT go there tomorrow, because they WILL be...... lol

We were aiming for 8 and now we have 19..... our newbies survived the weekend fine- hearty sassy little things, but now its cold here (46 degrees last night!) So I am thinking of building them an inside run (cardboard corral contraption like I saw on someone else's post-- she has 17 Jersey Giants I remember) that attaches to their dog crate.... It wont help with the introduction to the other chicks (they are well established outside) but will mimic "grownup" conditions I think...
