adding new chicks to current chicks

First time mom here.............
I have a 7week old and 2 three week old silkies.
just brought home 2, three or four week old RR.
I do not have a second brooder to use so I put them in together.
Is this ok?????

The 7 week old who acts like a mom to the other 2 baby silkies started pecking at the new RR feet right away. Then one of the babies started doing it also.I pushed her away a few times and now they are sitting across the brooder from eachother.

Will this stop after a day or so? Is it just normal chicken behavior? I know to use the red light invade they see blood. But I still don't want them hurt.

They're just discovering their pecking order. It should stop in a day or too. Good call on when to interfere.

You may want to put a screen separator between them for a while if the pecking doesn't stop. They'll be able to see but not hurt each other.

I suggest a screen separator. You could just use a piece of cardboard, but some type of wire or tank screening would probably work better (so they can see each other).
