Adding New Chicks

Hello:

I have 5 chickens who are about 2 years old. I have an extra coop and was wondering if I could add a flock of chicks and how the existing chickens would respond. Please post if you know anything about this type of arrangement.

Starting a second flock in a nearby coop is no problem. I might put a temporary fence around the new chicks' coop until they are around 12 weeks or so if they are sharing a common area.
