So I had 2 males for 10 females in my coturnix breeding pen and one of the males died for some unknown reason. I tried to take a male from a later hatch, threw him in there and you can probably guess how that turned out.

so what to do now? Can I take 2 males that were brooded together and put them with the females? Would one male be enough for all those females?
Thanks for your suggestions!

Try take'n half the hens out and putting them with the new roo, somewhere else. If you dont have enough pens, I have used empty brooders as temporary pens... You have be careful not get them so crowded they fight. Hold them apart for several days. After the pecking order has been disrupted, change old pen around as much as possible. Throw them all back together and watch for fireworks.... Bill
