Adding new pullets to the coop

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Lots of awesome tips above!

If all else fails and they're chased in the coop, I'd put a few hiding places in there for them, like leaning a pallet against a wall or, if you have a wooden box, setting it near the wall, overturned old chair, etc.

If there are issues now, those will very likely go away once they're all the same size.

That said, we have six nearly one-year-olds who still sleep on the floor in the corner. These are silkies who don't have perches per se anyway, as they would rather be up on the nest boxes or railing in front of them. I don't care where they sleep, as long as they're locked in there at night.

Hi, and welcome to BYC! We're glad you joined us! :)
Thanks! Me too. I’m hoping to get my 4 little girls at 12 weeks in with my 4 big girl’s , 1 and a half year olds, harmoniously as we leave for a long vacation in 3 weeks. So far… the big girls chase and peck the little girls. Any suggestions?

Put at least 2 sets of waterers and feeders so the young ones stand a chance to eat/drink in peace, and perhaps put theirs in that kennel, but only have it open so the little ones can get back in there. Or some other idea you can come up with where the little ones can get to their own feed/waterer or one close by a place of refuge should they become under attack.

Also, in the run, put lots of clutter, like a pallet leaning, or wooden boxes, an overturned old chair, etc. so they have places to run and dodge the bigger ones.
