We have the red barn TSC coop we bought from a guy it was a year old. My husband
Sanded and restained it for me and it's gorgeous! But since we are attaching a run I think I'd like to enclose the whole
Thing into a coop. Any help with that? Ideas on what wood to use to match the rest of the outside? Building a new coop isn't an option as we rent our farmhouse and will be moving in a few years when we buy

My suggestion would be to get some plywood siding and install horizontally to match your existing pattern. Just screw on panels and finish/stain to your liking.

When you make the BIG LEAP to your own place, you can build a larger coop there. Chicken MATH always comes into play.

Since you usually add in 2 or more chickens, when you will have 10, and you are surprised by 2 more out of nowhere. you will have a dozen, and on and on and on. Chicken math outsmarts us ALL....

Hmmmm.....honestly.....not sure closing that in would even be enough room for the 7 you already have.

What are the overall dimensions....maybe 3x6'?

Will the run be covered with a solid roof?

That's tight space for 7 birds, IMO, especially in harsh winter weather.
Integration goes much better with extra space.

I need to just listen and keep it the way it is. I wish we
Could figure out a coop that's easily moveable when we move to a permanent house that is a big coop. I want all the birds.

I'd turn the whole thing into a coop before next winter....at the latest.
