Adding silkies to the flock question

I have been advised not to do this. We have some young buff orphingtons and australorps. If we add a couple silkies to the flock are they going to try to kill them? Growing up we had bantams, white leghorns, and another larger breed all mixed together.

Bantams raised in conjunction with large fowl from chicks seem to make their own place in the pecking order. The reality of chicken society is bigger chickens pick on smaller more timid chickens. Silkies with their obscured vision are at a disadvantage. Young silkies added to an established flock are at a real disadvantage and might very well become seriously injured or killed.
