Adding some sod to brooder?

I started using a post hole digger and putting about a 4" circle of grass and dirt in with ours at about 4 weeks. They surround it and go nuts.

Before I put the plant of primroses inside the chicks broader, I consulted with my vet and went on line, I was advised to start exposing the baby chicks to different types of plants as they eat almost everything when chickens are raised free range, they eat from cockroaches to water bugs, snails, night crawlers and all sorts of plants. It is true that some of the plants that are toxic to inside pets are not good to those pets but chickens eat everything in your yard. My chicks did not get sick, they actually look very good and healthy. Thank you for the comment.
