2 new EE hens and a Cochin rooster found their way to me, and my flock grew to 15. It's time to integrate, so today I built a roost box to attach to my current coop. 4 hours later, here it is!

Most of the lumber was reclaimed from various sources, and I spent $18 on the fence slats plus $7 on the hinges.
I'm proud of my 4 hour, $25 dollar project.
What color should I paint it? (And the current coop as well)

Well.....what color is your house/neighboring buildings?

And the rest of the coop?

I like bright colors, like butter yellow....but I had to match other buildings so I painted mine barn red with forest green trim.

My house is a cream color and the existing coop is cedar, but I plan to paint them to match. I like bright colors as well.

With a cream house...you could maybe go with anything you felt like, maybe even flaming orange or a super bright turquoise. I think the houses with contracting trim are most fun, but I do also like the tone on tone more subdued ones too, like a creamy green base and an olive green trim.
