And we wonder why young people can't get a job.

Link doesn't work for me either, but from what the link says--that's stupid!! Seriously, what about kids in high school looking for a first time job? And secondly, what kind of degree do you need to flip burgers?! Dumb!

Okay, for those who can't open the link there's a McDonald's in Massachusetts that has an opening for a full-time cashier. The requirements are:

  1. A bachelors degree
  2. One to two years experience as a cashier

I'd copy and paste, but it's copyrighted.

Well the sad part is that they probably can get someone with a b.s or a b.a.
I have friends whose children have new degrees in physics and chemistry... and they are happy to get a job at Starbucks.
If you don't ask... you don't get.

People always say: education is the answer. But when things like this come up, is education really the answer?

Well McDonalds did have their own school at one time to properly train people, and yes they gave a degree at the end!

That is sad if this is true. The worth of a college degree is dropping even for those degrees that teach usable skills rather than just book knowledge.
