Do you have access to actual chicken feed? Just plain wheat is not going to be enough for them, especially come laying time. An all wheat diet is hard to digest and they will not gain much weight on this alone. They will have lots of health issues at some point. So see if you can find some chicken feed. No layer feeds yet. Feed for chicks only. You can use layer feed when they are ready to start laying.
