Has anyone shown their goats?
I was reading the rules and its really strict on having your goats in the right category but I don’t really understand the lingo for the shows.

There’s a show in August in my state and it says the show type is Jr Doe/Combined Doe.

I know from the rules that a jr Doe is under 24 months that hasn’t freshened yet, but what is /combined doe mean? Is that for just experimental breeds of goats? And if thats the case is the jr does also only experimental breeds?

I want to show my jr. doe American Alpine and possibly one of my Nigerians jr. does.

any help understanding this would be greatly appreciated.

It has been a long time since I have shown but I will check on that for you. I have a good friend who was an ADGA judge for many years but she isn't answering her phone right now. I THINK what it means is that there is a junior doe show and also a doe show where both senior and junior does are shown (combined). In any case, it would have nothing to do with experimentals. Experimentals are shown in the grade classes.

I checked with my judge friend. What I told you is correct. If you are a member of ADGA you should have been issued a guidebook. Show rules and breed standards are listed in it.
I registered a month ago but haven’t heard anything from ADGA, I even emailed them last week, I guess a lot of people have been having trouble with the website.
But thank you so much for helping me!

It isn't only the web site. ADGA is starting up a new computer system and things are not going well. I can guarantee that things will probably get a lot worse before they get better.

They have been down that road before. More than once as a matter of fact. In the mid 1970's when they decided to upgrade the computer system it ended up being months before they could issue registration certificates. Everything was being shown on stamped duplicates. Now, to make things worse, some key workers are retiring.

Yeah, I even called and was hung up on after waiting about 15 minutes for someone to pick up.
