Adjustment time for new chickens?

Usually how long does it take for new chickens to settle in and start laying? Thanks for any replies!

It can be days or weeks. How old are the chickens that you got? Are there combs and wattles nice and red?

I actually got two the other day, then we had a dog come in and get one of the two original chickens I had so that shook everyone up for a while. Today they are actually starting to come out of the coop and roam around the yard. They are about 20 weeks old. We are also going this evening to look at a couple of 25 week olds we saw on CL. Thanks!

If you get new one make sure you keep them seperat for awhile to make sure you do not pass any illness along.

I just got 8 hens as well, we've got 2 eggs so far and I have heard Chickens hate change... I also remodelled the coop so I figure it will take them some time to adjust. Then, Bring on the eggs...
