Over half of my unit is overseas, and they have at least eight months left on their trip. Please adopt a soldier, as you might be adopting one of my battle buddies. Three of my best friends are on the list for the next shipment, from what we've heard, and I might be too. So this makes me feel a THOUSAND times better knowing there are so many of my fellow chickeneers helping us out.

ETA: Red bull is a barter over there. You can buy ANYTHING with a can of redbull. Tootsie rolls are good because they hardly spoil. Things to think about.

I got a reply last night from my soldier!! waiting on another reply. the next email I send him I'm going to ask him he wants anything! I'm really good at baking cookies!!

I sent out an email this afternoon. But I think he may be deployed.. If I don't here back soon I think I'll send out a care package with a self-addressed stamped envelope asking him to send it back and let me know he got it

I was reading on the AAUSS site there is a USPS flat rate box you can stuff it as heavy as you want for a little over $10.

It's nothing compared to the price they are paying for us!!

Free boxes from usps, you can also get them from your post office for free, shipping is 12.95 (more for boxes over a certain weight I think).

I'm having problems emailing my soldier, at first the email was delayed, then I got a failure notice, so guess I'll try sending one again and if I get the same thing I'll go snail mail, if I don't get a response he's probably been deployed.

if you don't get an email may snail mail response? when they're deployed they still get mail deliveries, it does of course take longer.. but if they have a couple seconds to scribble something down and say a thank you they will. Just make sure write down the address EXACTLY as it's given to you. good luck
