Until a few years ago I had two house bunnies. A male/female bonded pair that I had spayed/neutered. They both died not far apart from eachother of old age. The were very spoiled and had run of their own bunny proof room since they were great with the litter box and never went anywhere except in it.
I had said I would never get another one but just happen to find out that animal control had a bunch that were left in the backyard of a house. So, I went to look.....one male came home with me:) His name is Seymour and his a sweetheart. He's a big boy and probably very close to 10 lbs.
He goes to work with me on Monday to get neutered. While he's out, he's gonna get a hair trim b/c he's got tree sap in his fur. The brush snags on it.

I wasn't prepared for another bunny and went to pick up a cage a freind had. It's way too small for him but he'll get a homemade upgrade soon. I've gotta get a cheap area rug over the weekend b/c I have hardwood floors that are too slippery for him when I let him out. Thankfully my livingroom didn't need much bunny proofing...just a few cords to hide.

He's very handsome....we are due to have our first bunnies in 3 weeks.I am excited and a little nervous. Good Luck Monday!

He reminds me of my "Brownie" I had growing up. He was a New Zealand!

Now Kute Kitten and her sister have two chincillas, or so my DH says he thinks that's what the guy told him.

Awww, Seymour is a real handsome dude! I adopted a male Dutch bunny last Oct., not knowing anything about rabbits. (He needed rescuing big time.) He lives free in the laundry room but can go all over the house if he chooses to. He's good using his box, too. I take him in the backyard every evening to run free and wild and he has a ball doing his binkies and digging to China! LOL Good luck with your new bunny. He's so lucky to have you!

All I can say is Awwwwwww

We are getting two Holland Lops this week. I've never been a rabbit person but my son out of the blue asked for one and then my daughter got in on the act...and then we decided to make it a 4H project for next year...

See how things can get out of control?? LOl..

Good luck with your little guy - he's a looker!

4H project? Does that mean you'll be breeding them/showing them? I know nothing about 4H..haha

My last two bun buns were a French Lop and a Holland Lop.

I'm just in love with Seymour!! Alot of my friend that have seen him thought he was wild bunny and ugly:-( They asked why I picked him instead of the other colors. He was by far the calmest and sweetess of all the bunnys there but I figured people would go for the cute colored ones and not the wild brown colored one.
Now there was a bunch of cute florida whites and some havana and a hotot dwarf??? I think.

Yes, he will show them, but not until next year. Projects start in October usually, but we got lucky and found a breeder not that far away. We're picking ours up Wednesday, and I'm pretty excited.

I like the brown colored ones, I'll post pics of our two when we bring them home.

Gee, I think he's really handsome! I even showed his picture to my husband to admire. He thinks Seymour is a good looking rabbit and wanted me to tell you that.

His color is much richer than a wild rabbit's. I love the full shape of his head and ears. The white/cream around his eyes really sets them off, too. How wonderful that he has such a calm and sweet disposition. I hope you have many happy years together. I'm sure he's going to enjoy having such a good home with you.
