Hey guys, we adopted a Plymouth Rock mature hen a couple weeks ago. We were told that she was an egg a day, double yoker hen. She has acclimated very nicely . In fact she seems to be a bit of a boss and at the least near the very top of the pecking order if not the top hen. She is very active and does not appear ill in any way. She seems very active and happy. Yet, I dont believe we have gotten a single egg from her. Ive seared the whole pen making sure she hasnt layed elsewhere, and have looked hor any evidence of an egg that has been eaten and have not found either... I must add though, I did expect that a change in environment (she was an indoor chicken at the time we adopted her, yes you read that correctly, INDOOR, meaning she was literally running around the Kitchen, playing with the dogs and sitting on the dinning room chairs when we adopted her)may cause a shock and a brief delay in egg laying, but I figured by now she seems at home..... so is this a concern? do we need to worry? or just be patient? we do not know her age.
