Adopted Injured Duck

I will take a look at her feet tomorrow to see if there is anything going on.

Even the duck I've had since hatch seems to not like humans outside of being a source of treats, and will even forgo the treats if you get too close. My chickens are not like that. They'll walk right in the house.

So, catching Bonnie is a challenge and she gets all upset and does dumb things (e.g. jump off of the patio or run over things) to get away. I don't want her to get hurt any more than she is.

As I mentioned, I can feel a hard mass in her wing, about mid-way down. I think that is making the wing heavy. As you can see by the video, she can still open and flap them. I wonder if I should bind that wing to her body for awhile.

No need to bind wing if it's an old healed fracture.

Hard for me to see. Good news is she flaps her wings so I doubt it's bothering her too much.

Hard for me to see too, lol... but to me it looks more like old injury, untreated angel wing tends to be more drastic looking...

Either grab her as she comes out of the duck house or just casually herd her towards a corner first... I know it is a worry of her panicking and injuring herself worse, but she needs to be checked over in case there's a current injury/issue that could get worse without treatment... hang in there, she will be happier later for your help... :hugs

X2

I wouldn't mess with the wing at this point...

Hello...Possibly the mass that your feeling are scabs from having wing feathers pulled out?..She might be a bit over weight which is common in Pekin. Hens that are mature look bottom heavy. That's normal. For now I would keep an eye on them. You can introduce your other Duck, just watch for any real fighting. Chest bumping and neck tying are normal behaviour when introducing Ducks..
Best wishes..
