I adopted 2 mallards- I believe they are both female. One will sit on top of the dog house and call and raise all kinds of racket several times a day. I love it, but what is the meaning of this? The same as a rooster crowing?

Also, I clipped both of their primary flight feathers last night as well, about 3 on their left sides....they still were flying when i let them out last night. They only flew about 10-15 feet, so if this is all you think they will fly, that is fine with me- I want them to be able to escape predators, but not fly away forever.

Maybe she's hoping a drake will fly over and stop in

I have no idea. lol

They could be calling for a mate. I'm not sure about the wing clipping thing, though. Maybe they want you to come out and feed and play with them.
