I free-range my Mallards and they tend to stay wherever the chickens are. I have a drake and two hens. I clipped one of the hen's wings so that they all won't fly away (the male tends to stay where the females are).

They stay near their pool, and next to the pool are two coops. One coop is where the ducks and chickens sleep in while the other coop is where the pullets sleep in (pullets may be moved once they are older meaning that the coop would be empty and usable for the mallard hen).

By their breeding season, both coops should be open and available to nest in, but I fear that they may not want to nest in the coop. How do I entice them to nest in either one of the coops?
