Title pretty much says it. There are free roosters on kijiji 2-4 months old. Anything wrong with me just rehoming them, raising them a bit longer, then eating them? I guess the previous owners just don't want to kill them.

I see nothing wrong with doing so, but some people specify 'pet homes'. Well there are only so many pet homes available for cockerels.

Nothing wrong with it at all. Honestly, even if the ad says "not for butcher" or whatever, truth is once you purchase or take custody of the animal, it's yours to do with as you please. If I am lucky enough to sell or give a rooster away, I pretty much expect for him to be eaten. That said, I wouldn't rub it in the seller's faces, especially if there are littles around when you pick up the birds.

there was a user on her a while back who ate quite well it seemed from free CL roosters. She'd post pics of her carcasses from time to time and it looked like dinner to me.

Eating them is a much better option for the rooster than what he would get in my area! There are a lot of people on our facebook sites looking for roosters- for cock fights and baiting dog fights. I'll take the free ones and use them for the table just to keep them out of the hands of those people! I got one free one this spring, and so far I'm keeping him because he's pretty gentle.
