ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

Rod is the OvaLight available now (or soon)? I am not sure if it is something that we will need here since this will be our first year with chickens in Arizona, so I am not sure how much daylight we might have. But if I do need to extend the hours a bit I definitely would like to get the light from you.
Thanks for asking about it Chicken Lady! And also thanks for that nice review of the ADOR on your website.

People have been waiting for the AC adapter / charger, and for the accessories and I feel bad for being slow to get to it all. As far as OvaLight, I figure it isn't a real need yet since the hens probably (here I sound like I know something but I really don't) won't produce any more eggs if you keep light on them when they already got (if you are up North) 16 hours of daylight! But those same locations only get less than 8 hours of daylight in the winter. Winter! That's when OvaLight should make a diff.

So now that I said all that, I am looking into some good ways to accomplish OvaLight... either DIY or buy something from AdorStore.com when I finally put it out. In the meantime, LED lighting prices are falling and falling and it is really great. I love LED lighting. In a few years tungsten and florescent (especially florescent... I hate those mercury laden poison tubes) will die the same death of the CRT (cathode ray tube, ie "pictue tube"). LEDs will be everywhere.

Very similar to the external connector that you see on our website for the external pushbutton, we will have a connector so you can cobble up a NiteLight or Ovalight or External Alarm light and hook it to the ADOR. As you may already have read, the ADOR operates a built-in switch for these accessories and that's included in the ADOR... the accessories are external add-ons and will also require an extra power source.

I should quit yakking about it and go build something and put it on the website! But for now... back to fulfilling orders. This weekend is Father's Day and also my birthday... hoping to be caught up and able to take the first weekend off in months!

Mine was 1415. I got it yesterday.
Before everyone freaks out.. we are well in to the 1500s. Bumpercarr's shipment was delayed by me because FedEx software said it wasn't a valid address. It actually was valid but when I'm ready to ship and FedEx nixes it, I check with the customer first because I don't like paying for the return from FedEx and then somebody's gotta pay to ship it out again...that could cost triple shipping not to mention possibly getting lost or delayed even more. So I'm sorry bumpercarr that yours was delayed after you had already waited. Also, sometimes at the last minute I see all I have is a POBox or the street address number is not there. Or you live in a new house that FedEx doesn't know the house number exists yet. I'm sorry for some shipments that get delayed because of this.

BTW, I thought orders were slacking off a little now that we've gotten through the Spring. If today is any indication -- things have not slacked off. Wow. But at least we have motors now coming out of our ears.

Congrats Rod it is so nice to hear about new businesses being successful I wish you continued success! Also happy birthday and happy fathers day. I hope you get some time off, it sounds like you really deserve it! Thank you for your hard work and dedication I can't wait to see your product in action.

Well Happy Birthday as well as Fathers Day!!! And thank you for the detailed reply. I don't think I will need the Ovalight until winter, if at all. But I do like to know what is available if I do need it. So go get some work done then do take a day or two for yourself and your family...your children need their father more than our chicks need the door...well as least as much, lol.

Glad to hear that. I'm #1545 and looking forward to my new door. I really enjoy spending a few minutes with my chickens first and last parts of the day but time is coming up when I will be long gone for the day when the sun comes up. My chickens will appreciate it.

Thanks to you and others for the well wishes... and I might mention this old rooster's chicks recently "flew the coop". My bride and I are empty nesters (the chicken subject brings a plethora of possibilities with puns and such, huh).

I sent my husband a video of the Ador working, he thinks it is great! So far, I really love my Ador. My goodness, the amount of work that it saves me. I love my chickens, but I love my sleep more and the Ador is giving me the opportunity to love both. This weekend I'm heading out of town and I'm sure that the babysitter will love the Ador as well. One other thing that is great about the Ador. It has been over 100 degrees here the past few days and now the chickens can get out as soon as the sun comes up and it is still cool. They are currently spending all of their daytime hours under the tree in their run, they don't want anything to do with the full sun! Ador helps accomplish this, they get out now at about 6:15 in the morning rather than waiting until I get up for them. It is a huge help, easy install, easy to operate. I just love this thing!

I love mine too, for all the same reasons. We are currently away for three days and my chicken sitter loves that she isn't responsible for letting them out or putting them up at night. She still comes to check on them twice a day but now it can be any time in the day. I only asked her to check on them once a day and give them cool treats I have already prepared for them, but she likes relaxing in the run in the evening watching the chickens. I am blessed to have such a great chicken sitter.

dringge, did you get an email with shipping confirmation yet? I talked to Rod 2 days ago when hr said he was well into the 1500's and mine 1552 would be shipped out the next day. I don't want to bother him again cuz he's so busy, but I really hope to get my door in and installed by next weekend so I don't have to worry on my camping trip. Just wondering if he is shipping with or without notice. Thanks for any info you have.
