Thanks for asking about it Chicken Lady! And also thanks for that nice review of the ADOR on your website.Rod is the OvaLight available now (or soon)? I am not sure if it is something that we will need here since this will be our first year with chickens in Arizona, so I am not sure how much daylight we might have. But if I do need to extend the hours a bit I definitely would like to get the light from you.
People have been waiting for the AC adapter / charger, and for the accessories and I feel bad for being slow to get to it all. As far as OvaLight, I figure it isn't a real need yet since the hens probably (here I sound like I know something but I really don't) won't produce any more eggs if you keep light on them when they already got (if you are up North) 16 hours of daylight! But those same locations only get less than 8 hours of daylight in the winter. Winter! That's when OvaLight should make a diff.
So now that I said all that, I am looking into some good ways to accomplish OvaLight... either DIY or buy something from AdorStore.com when I finally put it out. In the meantime, LED lighting prices are falling and falling and it is really great. I love LED lighting. In a few years tungsten and florescent (especially florescent... I hate those mercury laden poison tubes) will die the same death of the CRT (cathode ray tube, ie "pictue tube"). LEDs will be everywhere.
Very similar to the external connector that you see on our website for the external pushbutton, we will have a connector so you can cobble up a NiteLight or Ovalight or External Alarm light and hook it to the ADOR. As you may already have read, the ADOR operates a built-in switch for these accessories and that's included in the ADOR... the accessories are external add-ons and will also require an extra power source.
I should quit yakking about it and go build something and put it on the website! But for now... back to fulfilling orders. This weekend is Father's Day and also my birthday... hoping to be caught up and able to take the first weekend off in months!
