ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

I programmed my door to the open early close late setting (which was super easy to do) and I have to say the original defaulted setting is probably better IMO. The open early part is awesome because it has really cut down on the amount of poo in the coop. The door in opening as soon as they get off the roosts.

Mine came via FedEx earlier this afternoon. I am very impressed with the construction and how durable it looks. Just wish I had my coop built so I could run out and install it, but that will come within the next few weeks.

I'm about to order an Ador1. I spoke with the owner / designer (come to find out a neighbor engineer used to work with him) & he provided a lot of good information & answered all of my questions. I like the construction & don't want anything that swings out. I prefer the cog drive over a string / pulley arrangement. I also like the remote activate feature. I plan to run a circuit to the house so I can cycle the door without even going outside!!
They are selling them as fast as they can amke them & are currently a couple of weeks behind on filling orders...
I'll post pics of mine when I get it installed.

I also have the Ador1 and I love it. It could not have been any easier to install (cut opening, screw door over opening, install battery). I even have mine installed to face the interior of the coop (lots of windows allow this) and it works great. The other auto doors on the market do not even compare to the quality of this door. I highly recommend it.

This is the giant 5' X 5' window that allows the door to face inside and still see enough light to operate. You can see the Ador1 opening through the window.

This is the Ador1 mounted underneath our nest boxes (from Kuhl, which I also recommend). The door slides up behind them.

Here she is, working just fine. This picture was taken right after installation. Since then the breeze keeps the pine shavings blown away from the entrance.

This is the door from the outside, just a hole because all the workings are facing inside. I plan to put a frame around the opening just to pretty it up.

I have been shopping around for something just like this. We are making our coop this week. So I would need it in a bit of a hurry... The coop will be 4 x 4. Will this door fit? And one more question. What if the door starts to shut when a lazy hen is sitting in it?

If you need it real fast, you should call Rod. I know they are making them as fast as they can, but I don't know what the wait time is right now. (832)444-0192

  • Door Closed Over-all dimensions: 23.5"H x 11.5"W x 3.25"D.
  • Door Opened : Door extends above frame 5" additionally when open: 28.5"H x 11.5"W x 3.25"D.

Not sure what happens if a lazy chicken decides to sit in the doorway.
