ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

In building my coop, it has worked out that the pop door will have to be installed on the west side of the coop. Will this be a big delay in morning opening?

It really shouldn't be much of a delay at all. The door does not depend on direct sunlight to open, but overall "lightness"...if that makes sense.

After reading just a few posts on this thread, I was sold. I ordered my door on Wednesday the 24th and spoke to Ron just now and he is shipping it this afternoon! Their website predicted a one week delay and true to their prediction - it's exactly one week today. Woo Hoo! I can't wait to get this baby installed so I'm not walking out to the coop each day at 5:30am to let my chickens out of their coop and I don't have to plan my evenings around putting them to bed at night.

Good for you! Happy sleeping in...although I didn't at first because I would get up to watch the door open, ha ha!

I ordered mine on the 26th hoping it will be shipped out soon! I haven't been so excited about anything in a long time

You won't regret ordering the door ! Mine has been installed for a month and I'm away on vacation as I type this and my chicken sitter has been telling me that the door has been working great ! No more worrying while away on vacation !! The ADOR1 is the best !

An automatic door would be great but how would you know if all your chickens got inside when they were supposed to. The door could shut while one was still out, distracted by something. I guess it's good while you are away and a sitter doesn't have to worry about doing a round up.
