ADOR1 Automatic Coop Door?

It is difficult to hear about these issues. I really wanted to try this unit. I hope that the stuff that was outlined to try to correct any problems work. I am pulling for it to be worked out.

Just wanted to add a bit of good news to this thread. I have had the Ador1 installed since July and it has worked perfectly each and every day. For me, it has been the best money I have spent setting up my chicks. While I am sorry that some folks are having issues with the door, it seems that only a few of the doors are affected. When you think about how many have been sold (see prior posts) vs the ones with problems.
So MckinneyMike, don't be discouraged, there are a lot of very contented chickens and flock keepers who simply love this door and have no problems with it.
Not affiliated with Ador door in any way.....Just an extremely happy and pleased customer!
I sincerely hope that the others get their door working properly,
Murphy

Why not contact Rod, the guy who makes the door? In the interest of good customer service, I am sure if there are some faulty doors out there, a repair, or replacement would be offered.

Rod has been nothing short of excellent with me and regarding the issues I had with my door. The motor was acting up, so he sent another one to me and I installed it... So far the door and motor are working great. I agree with the statement above about calling Rod... He's excellent !

You,can get a paint primer called Bullseye 123,made by zinser put two coats of it on the door(it's a little bit watery)designed as a primer undercoat that any paint can be painted over, stops paint chipping off.
