I have found that if my door gets tweaked, it will have a hard time opening. Checking the plumbness of whatever the door is mounted to may help you find what is wrong.
My guess(I haven't asked Rod about it) to check would be
1) Open door using manual button. Does it have a hard time opening.
2) Uninstall door.
3) Lay on flat surface, or hold in upright position with your hands
4) Open manually. If it now opens without laboring, it may simply be that the installation site needs to be flatter.

Aart, you are correct. That is what I meant by plumb and level. The frame of the ADOR can twist fairly easy and seems to me that could be the cause of a lot of the doors either laboring or failing to open.I would think the flatness is more important than level and plumb...the guides for the door look fairly lightweight and easy to screw down to an unflat surface bringing them out of line causing a pinch on the door.
I can tell you what I'm going to do to make it more flat. Screw the door to a 1/2" thick peice of metal, then mount that to the coop. That could have contributed to my issues, but how does one level the installation site? I am not a carpenter by any means and would welcome ideas![]()
And probably less expensive than metal.Try using Plexi Glass... you will have the benefit of being waterproof. It wont rot or warp and you will be able to see in. Just an idea.
That oughta do it!I can tell you what I'm going to do to make it more flat. Screw the door to a 1/2" thick peice of metal, then mount that to the coop......
