So I have an Ador1 automatic door opener. My property is watered by flood irrigation, and the last couple of times it has caused the door to open. From what I understand, reflection off of water triggers the photosensors to open the door. I found out this problem can be solved by putting some shield up to prevent accidental triggering. But the info was a bit vague on how to do that.

I am hoping someone else has had a similar issue with the door and can give me some ideas on how to shield the photosensor. Otherwise, I will be doing some trial and error work.

I have an Ador1, but don't water, so have no reflection triggering the sensor. Have you tried contacting the company, to see if they have any ideas?
I haven't contacted them yet. I read it in their troubleshooting section. Rain and other things can cause it as well. I was hoping to see what others have done.

Nothing from the manufacturer. So if I can't solve this issue, I may be disabling. I don't want it opening up on its own at night. I likely see this happening in the rainy season, if the food waters trigger it to open.

Did you contact them directly via their website? I have contacted them in the past, and they were quick to respond. But, that was before they were on Amazon. I notice that some trying to contact via Amazon have said they aren't responding.

Yeah. I contacted them directly, and it has been over a week now. I am not too surprised I got no response, just bummed. I have a flood irrigation coming up soon, so I will be able try something out. I was hoping for more info, because it will be about 2 weeks in between each attempt.

That's too bad they didn't get back to you.

If water on the ground is reflecting light back to the sensor try attaching something about an inch or so wide just under the sensor to block any reflected light from the ground.

Only problem I had with mine were the ir lights on the trail cam. I had them shining right into the sensor. A slight shift of the camera in one direction solved it. As far as rain, we get a ton of rain and it hasn't affected mine at all.

Thanks. I am thinking a U-shape. One of the times it opened, our flood irrigation was completed and soaked in, the soil was just still saturated with water. That is my main reason to worry about the rain, because that still triggered it to open.

Maybe it is our cameras when it is wet. They all point away from the door, so I never really considered it to be a problem.
