Adult chicken problem with joints/hips/legs

Does anyone know what would cause a grown chicken to stand up straight to the point that it cannot walk correctly? It appears as if his hip bones are protruding forward. This is a young breda rooster that is full grown but hasn't started crowing yet. The backstory is that the bird was given to me by someone that purchased it from what was described as a chicken mill (really bad conditions). She gave me five birds total and all were very thin but the others do not have the walking problem.

If it were a hen,i would say egg bound,this will cause the "penguin walk". In a rooster,not sure.

Thanks. He doesn't seem to be in pain and is a very sweet bird. My husband doesn't want to spend the money on a vet bill for a chicken so I'm not sure what to do.

Check his feet,any sores? Look at vent,any blockage,is he constipated? How does his poop look(runny,different color,diarrhea).

We checked him for injuries and sores but didn't find anything. I'll look again to see if I missed something and check his vent again.

I had no idea that chickens could get constipated!!! Come to think of it he doesn't seem to poo that much but what I've seen looks normal. Maybe some olive oil is in order?

I need to get some weight on him but these bredas are finicky eaters.
