Hello...I live in SW pennsylvania. I have an adult cornish cross who is 7 months old. She has a coop of her own due to the regular coop being elevated and she had a bout of fly strike 😡 this summer which was a challenge but she is completely healed from.My question is will she need some alternative heat when the temps drop?

I had dog crates in the hoop coop as a huddle house.
I kept 2 CX pullets ,separate,. One was found in a forest preserve and died mid winter.
The other I had restricted feed since May, a month old, and free ranged until the snow got deep... she died at a year old before she started laying again.

What kind of temperatures are we dealing with and how is your coop set up? If she has a coop that has adequate ventilation while also providing plenty of windbreak, I imagine she would be fine with reasonable winter temperatures, but I don't know where you're located. I'm assuming due to her breed that she doesn't roost, in which case using straw on the floor is going to be warmer than using sand or shavings.

this is her coop but she has a 10x10 run. the temps can drop to teens and below with the wind chill. she does take up most of the space in the coop haha

Those temperatures don't sound too bad. Also making sure her bedding stays pretty clean so she's not damp will help a lot.
