I find this simultaneously hilarious and super frustrating.

Ever have this problem?

My older ducks will literally get as far into a corner away from the ducklings as possible. Sometimes they even shake.
The ducklings think this is great. They like to chase and nip the tails of the big ducks, then gleefully eat their food.

I saw it with a lone heifer (raised with goats) once. She'd never seen a calf in her life, and she took off away from that steer calf like he was the scariest thing she'd ever seen. They sorted it out a couple days later.

Ducks are more paranoid than cattle, though, so it'll probably take longer. Good luck.

In March this year i let 14 duck teenagers loose into the area with my four grown up Indian Runners. Boy were they afraid of those noisy, nasty teenagers! And boy were they beating up those teenagers during the night when both parties were confined in the duck house!!
Have an eye on them, just in case that your grown up's suddenly realize that they are much stronger and more experienced than the little ones. I had down and feathers flying in the first night.
Fast forward three months and all my ducks have become one flock. They all stick together, when bugging their human for meal-worms…

Well, I think human teenagers do scare me.

It's the smaller humans that make me quake, the 5 - 8 year olds. They are way too cynical to be amused by my story telling any more. They think my characterizations, dramatizations and vocalizations are .... "lame." Sigh.

ETA: I, on the other hand, think they are brilliant and funny. So there!
