Hi all,

I was just wondering how common it is for geese to have a second mating season in the fall? My Chinese started the mating process again a couple of weeks ago. They are adults, and had a rather long season this Spring (through the end of June). I've tried to look it up online, but haven't been able to find any info. Is it fairly normal, or are my geese odd ducks?!

Thanks,

My goose often lays a second round of eggs in the fall. Not this year, though.

Good luck.

My American buff females are currently laying eggs! I noticed that my sebastopol gander was starting to breed them a couple weeks ago, then finnaly they started laying last week. So yes it is not unsual for geese to have a breif laying/breeding period in the fall
