Adult hen - curled toes - DIY corrective shoes (?)

This is how my chickens toes are and was thinking of ways to help her walk. She doesn’t extend her legs out very far. She walks in a stumbling way and uses her wings to keep balance. She grips my fingers with her toes and is eating and drinking.

Have you tried giving vitamin B complex or chick vitamins that contain riboflavin (B2?) How old is she? If you could try to make shoes out of styrofoam meat packs to foam and tape the toes in a normal fashion for a few day, it might help. Remove the shoes daily to check feet and replace them for 4-5 days.

I have been giving chick vitamins and I do daily leg massage. She grabs my fingers with death grips but struggles to walk. I was wondering about shoes and I will give that a go. Thank you!

Watching this thread!

Funny @Hen Pen Jem brought up the pigeon toed child. I myself was so pigeon toed I could not run without falling down. Wore special shoes/booties with elastic braces for two years that rotated my feet out. It was fully corrected and I went on to become a gymnast, dancer and diver. :) (In other words, completely normal function).

Greetings Akellar,

You should start a thread, in the Emergencies section, for your chicken's health issue. Members will be confused when they go back to the original post, as I did, and see that it was originally started by another member.

You will also get the points, and likes, that should be for your membership. Not to mention, the original hen was an adult, and yours is 8 months old. This age difference is an important detail.
