So my hens are just not getting it. I installed four nipples in a five gallon bucket a hung it at eye level over a month ago. They were completely uninterested. I tried to show it to my friendliest hen and she looked at me like I was crazy. I moved their regular water next to it. Finally, I let their fount waterer run dry last night. This am, they have looked and looked for water in their waterer yet continue to ignore the nipples so I picked up the waterer. I even took one to the nipple and pushed her beak into it, releasing water. They just are not getting it. It's 90 something out and I know they are thirsty. How long should I give them to pick it up before I give their waterer back?

Just remove all water source container tonight. You can train them by tapping on the nipple waterer in the morning. They are thirsty and have no choice but drink from the nipple. Don't put any other source of water back and they will learn!

That's true speedy. Young chicks take right to the nipples for anyone thinking about it
