Adventures in Incubating Shipped Eggs

Pics
Good morning!

I started my day by crouching down and pressing my ear up against the incubator because, well, who doesn't?

No peeps, although I'm pretty sure I could hear something. Like a crinkling, scratching sound.

How is hatch mania going for everyone else?
Haha, I find if I strain my ears hard enough eventually I hear some peeps. In my mind...

2 chicks have hatched so far, 1 from grocery store and 1 from the shipped batch. None of the shipped cracked eggs have hatched.

So yesterday was day 21. Do they hatch while i'm off work? Noooo, of course not. :barnie

Starting to get slightly worried, even though I know that they can take longer than that. Using the broody method, and last year she hatched her babies on day 20. So that was my expectation. :he

Anyways, today, today we have a bebe!! One of four eggs so far. None shipped, but I wanted to share the squeeee!

Day 19, and I just had to visit the incubators on lockdown and take a peep through the clear plastic wall, thinking about opening one up and sponging up a little water to bring the humidity down a notch...
And then that one Appenzeller chick who was always flailing around during candling, says

"Don't start unlocking and don't bother knocking, cause this egg is rocking!"

Of course that's the egg that's rocking and rolling! We've got a feisty chick in there. So excited to meet the babies.
