Adventures in Incubating Shipped Eggs

I have 2 little babies so far! I had to assist with the one mentioned earlier. I’m not sure if it was malpositioned or what. As soon as I chipped a piece of egg off, it popped right out! I have one egg left I think is viable. It has an internal pip and Looks like it’s breathing. Fingers crossed!
Thanks for your help with my other one! This is my first hatch.... of course it couldn’t be easy

Meddling too much... I really suck at lockdown. I usually justify it by saying it doesn't hurt if there are no external pips. Usually I am right. These shipped eggs are fragile though. Temptation got me & I Candled again lastnight. Found egg #4 died yesterday. So I now have 2 dead eggs in the bator. 10 total, which makes 8 potential chicks. Uhg shipped eggs are so hard! #6 is moving, but looks a few days behind the others. Maybe cuz it's s bigger egg?

So far I have managed to fight the urge to check for internal pips this morning. The thought of them slowly dying off before hatch is so disappointing..

8 potential eggs. Hoping to get 5-6 hatched, which will result in 2 pullets. I need at least 2 pullets after investing so much!

Try to find excuses to be away from the bator. Day 19 really is a tough day. It's too late to candle and it is too soon to expect peeping or pipping. It's so hard not knowing what's going on in there.

I'm holding strong, shining a light into the bater every hour or so hoping I see some signs of life. No luck so far.

Those excruciating 72+ hours where you contantly stare into the incubator wondering if you heard a chirp or not...

Heaven forbid there is a spec if dirt or errant pencil mark on an egg. It will also become a point of fixation and wonder. I wonder, could that be a pip...

My next planned batch of eggs is going to be ordered at the end of this month... Lavender Ameraucana Bantam eggs. I think I must be a masochist, to already have it arranged to torture myself more, while I'm impatiently waiting on eggs that still have two weeks to go...
