Hi everyone! First off sorry for all the posts. I lost my first load of eggs so I'm desperate to get it right this time!

So 6 out of my 7 eggs have piped externally. However, it's not large holes or anything. It's just a slight crack in outer shell. (See pictures attached)

The first one piped almost 24 hours ago and has been verbal but has not made much progress.

The others piped roughly 12 hours ago and again, not much happening.

I'm just worried that they will not have cracked the egg enough to continue breathing for much longer.

I'd be greatful for advice.

Those pips are normal. They usually just look like a small break in the shell early on. The chicks are still absorbing yolk, even after they pip like this. They can breathe fine. They'll start to zip when they're ready. Just give them more time. :)

Thank you. Never thought I'd be so stressed out over hatching ducks

Ducks can take a little longer to hatch. No worries. Hatching anything is stressful, even if it's the 50th time. Some people seem so chill about it. I'm not as stressed as I used to be, but I still act like a total broody. Lol. I have to make up extra chores to keep myself busy.

Please post baby pics when they start popping out! Haha!
