Advice about installing an electric fence (not netting) around current fence!

Low end charger like I use from Tractor Supply cost about $60.00 plus the grounding rod and other essentials required for all chargers. It does not take much to charge small perimeters, especially if you control shorts. It does not take much of a jolt to repel most predators. Make certain proper breaker installed to limit impacts of lightening on charger. Lightening fries them easily.

Sara C, some people also have a wire closer to the ground, at just the right height so that the fox will stiff it and then get shocked on the nose. This will create a psychological barrier with the fox and he likely won't try again. Though, like I said, if you have this low wire I would also have another wire at the top to prevent the fox from jumping over and climbing. Though a barbed wire at the top might do just as well.

A barbed wire is unlikely to repel any chicken predators, but the barbs can reach down into all that fox fur to help complete the circuit between fox and ground.
