Advice about keeping a rooster in the suburbs?

Thanks Robin'sBrood!

Funny story so my parents are away this weekend and I did tell them I was going to pick up some black ameraucana but didn't say anything about a rooster

They would have said no and he was to beautiful to pass up! I called my mom and said "a rooster may have slipped into my box of chickens" she just laughed and said so be it. Then I picture messaged her a photo of them and she just said "good job". Then I emailed my dad who is away at a meeting a picture of the rooster and he said "sometimes you ask your parents permision before you do something, and other times you do it and ask for forginvness. I forgive you"

Its hard to wake me up but I was sleeping with my windows open to see if he could. He started at 6 while it is still completly dark and just kept going. I hurried out snatched him and put him in a catcarrier in the shed. He is quite now but that was really stressful I guess its all part of having a suburban rooster. He will have to stay in the shed every night now that I know what he can do in the morning. Hopefully everyone else was sleeping with their windows closed and we will be fine.

He is begging me to send him away this morning he crows every 45 seconds AHHHHHH ! He is testing everyone I was up at 6 because I decided to leave him out this morning! I ran out and locked him in the coop. I really can only pray he didn't wake the neighbors up but He might have. well lets just hope he calms down or my neighbors don't care.

I live with that worry every day!! I have 3 roos that go nuts every morning. I'm not supposed to have even 1 roo let alone 3!! So far my neighbors haven't said anything.
I'm not really in town but not outside of town either, kinda in the middle! I do worry some morning i'm gonna get a knock at my door from either a neighbor of worse...animal control!! Good luck to us all that have roos!!

Either way it in the cat carrier for him every morning from now on.

You were probably much more sensitive to his crowing than your neighbors.
When my lad started crowing, loudly, early (before light) I was very worried he was bothering the neighbors. I asked them (the people behind and to the side of us), and they hadn't even heard him crowing. That's when I told them to PLEASE let me know if he was an issue and I'd figure something out. They appreciated me asking and being willing to take their desires into consideration.

My coop has no windows, yet one of my roosters will start at 4 or 5 a.m. and just wail! Friday night (early Sat. a.m.) he sounded like a child crying or a cat yowling.

I am just waiting for the neighbors to complain. You may or may not get complaints. Just have a plan - in case.

Thanks it this gives me hope. My brother didn't wake up I think I am just listening to him more than other people. I am just worried but he seems to have quited down. I think Roosters are actually less anoying then the "I LAID AN EGG" BOk BOKing of hens. Well We will see what happens

He will go to my Aunts farm she can't resist and animal in need and then I will try and find someone who want to show or breed him because he is to beautiful to sit around and mate red stars till a jack russel eat him

My roo crows before daybreak but it is hard to hear him when he is in the coop. I feel sorry for the poor hens locked in there with him though... don't you know the hens want to tell the roos to shut up and let them sleep!
