You cant stick ANY dog in that type of existance, and think it is gonna be fine with anybody. Let alone kids! These are the trash that like to get pits to make themselves look tougher! (We call this Small P*n*s Syndrome around here.) THEY are what give pitbulls a bad rep. And it's just recently pits. In the 70s and early 80s it was Rotti's. The y get the "tough" dog to overcompensate for other short comings, and keep it locked away only to be brought out and shown off on the occasional visit from other loser friends. MANY of them around here. I feel bad for the dog, but unfortunatly it sounds like he needs to be put down. ALONG with dear BIL...
That's exactly what I meant. Any type of dog like a pit that needs proper obedience training, and constant interaction with humans, and other dogs. From day one those types of dogs need training, and socialization. I train german shepherds, and those dogs can also become dangerous if not bred properly, and trained properly. I have had several breeds of abused and neglected dogs brought to me over the years. It's not just pit bulls, but unfortunately, like you said, this one may be past the point of intervention.
