I came home yesterday to find my silky rooster on his back, struggling in a shallow hole in my yard. It's a spot where my hens usually dust bath. I ran over and picked him up , and he was so exhausted and lethargic , so I brought him in and put him in a cage overnight. He is now standing & walking and appears outwardly to be okay, however , he has an occasional bark or cough and kind of sounds like he's snoring lightly when he's breathing sometimes. I can't determine if he's eating and drinking, there is very little output of poo. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice for me? I posted on two websites on facebook yesterday and they haven't even been approved to be posted yet. Thank you for any help. (I wanted to add a Video for sound, but only see an option for photos)

Post the video to YouTube and link back.
He may have a little strider from the dust, it's just a little debris on the air way.
Since silkies don't have proper feathers, they can't get extra leverage to get out of dust wallows easily. It may be too deep

I tried, but got an error. He hasn't 'barkwd/coughed in a couple of hours. Im using a syringe with water/VetRx on the side if his beak & he's getting some down. Not eating or drinking otherwise, but when I take him out of the cage he is upright. Hopefully he just needs rest. Thank you!

Don't give him vet rx orally , it's a rub like vicks. It's just camphor oil.

Keep him warm and comfortable, offer water and some soft food. . Hopefully he’ll come around more, he must have exhausted himself from struggling on his back.
Did you look him over for any injuries? Has he tried to walk a bit?

Ill check on him before I go to bed. I think he didn't like being separated from the flock. :) Fingers crossed he'll be ok. I haven't heard him cough/bark all afternoon, so that's a good sign.

He's doing good this morning. Im keeping him outside in a large fenced dog pen with a buddy. :) thanks everyone
