Sorry to see you have 2 roosters. My 2 BRs are the exact same age. One is a decent amount lighter than the other, but the lighter one's comb is not as large or red as yours. Their waddles aren't showing yet either. Here are some photos taken earlier today.
It's okay! We knew as soon as their combs and wattles started developing that they were boys... I was just trying to keep a little hope that one of them would turn out to be hens. Thankfully they are going back to a loving home with lots of acreage. I'm just so glad that Pip and Gracie are ladies, because we bonded with them from the start.
After reading your message I started looking closer at my Welsummer and low & behold I have a roo!. I was so hoping for a hen because I was looking forward to the dark brown eggs. We won't be able to have a roo so he'll probably be dinner. The funny thing is my husband named "her" Jake and now the name fits.
Oh no, I'm sorry! My better half joked about keeping the roos and "enjoying them around Easter time" lol, but I don't think I could! I can't wait to see what type of eggs our barred rock/ameraucauna mix is going to lay!
We rehomed Jake, our Welsummer, to my cousins. This was last day with us. It turns out that one of our ee's is a roo too! He hasn't started to crow yet.... I'm going to miss him when he does!
