Advice For Rescuing Domestic Ducks

My mom and I are working on rescuing 2 domestic ducks, who were dumped at a pond at a public park, a Pekin female and a Mallard drake, whose limping. We have a net and a cage; so far we've been using dried mealworms, cat food, scratch grains, and chicken feed, weren't successful before, but today we went to see how they were and when we walked up to them they didn't go in the pond like usual, so I went to the car to get some feed, and the Pekin ate from my mom's hand, but the Mallard stayed farther away. We'd really appreciate any advice you guys can give to help us rescue them.

Very large net but you have to be fast. I rescued 2 domestic ducks from our river both drakes a few years back I started out by feeding them then I set up a dog x pen with the one end open towards the water fed them that way for a few days until they got comfortable walking in and to the back of the pen then when they went in to eat I closed the pen up and picked them up put them into a dog crate and brought them home took about a week total. I hope you can get them.

We've been at the park trying to get the ducks this week and weren't successful. The wild geese aren't helping, because when we try to luer the ducks with food, the geese come, plus the people. We aren't going over the weekend because of all the people at the the park, so we'll try again next week. Also a man was very upset that we were trying to rescue these 2 domestic ducks, so all that yelling didn't help either, but the drake isn't limping as bad as in the beginning of the week.

So sorry you haven't been able to get them. How about very early morning or right before dark maybe there won't be as many people there to interfere.

That might work, we've been going during the week, to avoid a lot of people being there, around mid morning and early afternoon.

It might be a shot in the dark, but I’ve heard of people rounding their ducks up off the pond with a remote control boat.
