Ok here is my run design which is 16x20x36'' The chickens have access to the inside of the shed and have a smaller run with roosts as indicated in the pictures
I made the mistake of using chicken wire for the sides. I intend on using appropriate hardware cloth from lowes buried 12''. I intend on covering the top as well but i was wondering opinions on if I need to hardware cloth the top or if chicken wire will be ok there

I use poutry wire for the top of my runs/but they are much taller. I think you could use poultry wire, just be sure to fasten it securely.

I am using hardware cloth on the top of mine. Neighbor has some fruit trees and have seen rat teeth marks in some of them.

A lot of people do fine with netting or chicken wire up high. I am a big fan of solid roofs over part or most of the run. It offers shade and helps keep most snow and rains out. Nice run construction but you would be far happier if you doubled the height. Ideally one that you can get into to visit the birds, feed, water, and clean without getting on your hands and knees.

Thanks for all the replies
I visit and play with the birds inside the coupe it's 12' high and as soon as I walk in they all come running In expecting treats lol
Cleaning isn't bad because I made it so the tops flip up when I need them to.
I will definitely provide a top for shade and shelter from snow outside for them.
The inside of the coupe is 9x12 and 10' high with a lot of roosts. they have lots of room in there to protect from the elements as well.
