Hi, I've only had my beautiful hybrids for about 6 weeks and they all seemed to be doing really well. Started laying not too long ago with small but perfect eggs. They have a diet of layers pellets, corn, kitchen scraps and grit as well as outside forage. My problem is that although they are alert with no signs of illness one of them has runny poop and has started to lay

either shell less or soft shelled eggs. I don't know why as the other two are carrying on fine. Can anyone give me any tips on how to help her? I don't have the option of confinement. Thank you x

Hi, Im certainly no expert, but i would start by restricting their diet to layers pellets only and providing oyster shell in a separate feeder (I attached a plastic cup with wire next to their regular feeder) - they will take it if they need to. Proprietary feed has all the nutrients needed, so giving additional food should not be necessary, and it could be the additional food that is not agreeing with her digestive system.

Good luck

Great advice, I'll give it a go

You're very welcome - I had the same issue with my newbie layers - one was laying soft shell eggs, and i now give them no treats and she is fine.
