Hi I am hatching Sebastopol goose eggs, I had 5 due to hatch, two quit at lockdown, 1 hatched on day 29, the other 2 were rocking around so left them to it. The next day one was completely still so I candled and opened it up and it had pipped internally and then had never got any further and died. The last one is still moving but not as much, hasn’t pipped internally, someone who has hatched these before suggested I make a small hole in the shell where the air sac is which I have done. Can’t see/feel any signs of a beak underneath the membrane so have left alone in the incubator as I don’t think it has absorbed all his blood or yolk sac. I currently have 1 lone gosling and the other one is still alive in the incubator, I am assuming I just need to leave alone and wait and see right? Have dampened the membrane and can still see some veins so not ready to hatch yet I don’t think.
