. Thanks, I'm not familiar with this breed yet. He is HUGE!In general buff Orpington roosters don't go up on stuff much. Because of their weight I would hesitate to clip their wings as they could injure their legs jumping down off stuff without the full use of his wings.

Me too! I just want to be able to let them free range a bit more. Plus he needed a home.Don't be surprised if your egg production drops after you integrate him. Chickens don't like change. I have never had hens/pullets that were happier with a cockerel than without. I hope he turns out to be a gentleman for their sakes.
