Advice on joining one submissive hen with 6 one-month-old chicks

This is my very first post, please advise if I have posted this in the wrong place.

I currently have 6 one month old chicks (straight run that I will give back the cockerels to the farm that gave them to me), and a friend wants me to have her maimed and reclusive full grown Rhody, whom i would LOVE because she already is laying eggs.

Does anyone have advice on how to join these parties together? Apparently, the lone hen was ravaged so badly she is alone in a pen now and attempts to rejoin her with her original broodmates has failed, so this person wants me to have her. She acts very submissively right now.

Not sure if it will work but I'm the type of person who would give it a try. A few of my birds have come from a bad situations and have turned out great now my flock is a mixed up batch of chickens but I won't have it any other way. She may even become a nanny to them you never know till you try..
