Advice on my egg that is hatching?

Yes, or they will bleed the main thing is getting the shell opened more, pick away that white membrane that is attached to the shell. there is another membrane around the chick and that is probably what is int he way and also what will have blood vessels to avoid just open the shell and the memb. that is attached to the shell and see what the chick does give it a couple of hours. You can also wrap the egg with a damp paper towel not covering the opening but to help keep it humid and not dry out.

I did exactly what you both said and it went well! no blood vessels and I was able to remove some shell and outer membrane. the chick is peeping and was kicking a bit. it seems like it's trying to get out. I put it back in the bator and it looks like this now. should I let him do the rest?

he is malpositioned, he never would have made it. Break away the shell so he is not pinched but let him struggle as much as he can for his own good.

I stopped peeling back the shell because I think I saw the yolk sack still so that means he's not ready

Doesn't look good :( I peeled the shell off and he started to knock his way out so I put it back in the bator and he was kicking more and broke through his membrane and then I saw the yolk sack

ifote name="jfays" url="/t/970195/advice-on-my-egg-that-is-hatching#post_15115563"]Any advice on this little one? :/[/quote]I would quarantine him in the incubator if it's at all possible. You don't want the other chickens pecking at it. It should absorb it or fall off.

I didn't get to see this until the morning and sadly he didn't make it through the night. Woke up to him passed away. So upsetting. I wished there was more I could have done. He was malpositioned and not ready to come out

HELP! Now I have another one that is concerning me. He/she JUST popped out about 5 minutes ago is it suppose to look like this? What is that hanging off him and his butt? It's like something is still attached to him are they his guts? Is this normal? There is no blood but there is that thing on his butt why is it still attached? It stays on him as he flops around. He is breathing.
