Hey everyone, I have 6 Cornish cross at the moment and they are getting close to butchering time, I want to switch to a more natural meat bird, that i could put in a tractor on grass that would be moved everyday. Any suggestions?

We raise several breeds and basically so far just butcher whatever we have extra like roosters we don't sell. Mostly Rhode island reds but we butcher them young like 3-4 months old. Yes their small compared to a Cornish cross but the flavor is amazing and soft. When our Sussex starts laying I'm wanting to raise a big batch of them up because they look very meaty. Also thinking about some orpingtons. The feed conversion probably isn't as good as a Cornish cross but we don't have to buy the chicks, and I think it makes up for it in flavor.

Yeah I have a few laying hens too but they are producing a lot of eggs, one is a Rhode Island Red, and thanks Ol Grey that did help a lot
