Okay So this is our chicken yesterday she had been pecked by the others and was bleeding so we seperated her and she slept inside in a cage over night. This morning she was cleaned up with normal saline and put antibotic cream on the area. There was nothing hanging out. I went to check on her before and there was like a thin string hanging out of her sore just less then 1cm long. I freaked out and got a cotton tip and tried to push it back in but didnt seem to work. So i came inside and got y phone and went back out and took these pictures. As you can see in the circle it has gone back in a bit more and there is just the slightest hanging out. I was just wondering what happened? and how can we prevent it from happening again? she looked like she was healing? would she have done this herself by pecking at it? Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
